Suffix is awesome. It will not let you down. I have numerous stories including a recent 1 hr tangle with a goliath and the line did give up on me.

I only use sufix braid. No wind knots & it casts a country mile.

Agreed, but its still worth looking around at other braids. You will never know if there is anything better on the market if you don't look. I have only used the sufix braid once sense I have spooled it on and I wasn't thrilled with it. I'm not sure if it was over spooled of what but had a few wind knots and finally called it quits for that day with that reel. I have respooled it and left it with a smaller amount of backing on in hopes of less problems. I still have PP 10# and 15# on my other 5 reels and I will not switch those over to anything else till I find a solve. Like you said CooknFish, PP has never done me wrong (other then a wind knot or two) and I don't want a larger dia. line and loose the casting distance. I love the 10# and 15# and will never go to a higher # no matter what brand I use. I have landed my biggest fish on 10# PP (45" red) with ease and never had a problem other then the wind knots.

So if I ever find that one go to line I will let ya'll know, but personally I just don't think its been invented yet. There's no such thing as a perfect line, braid, floro, or mono, but it never hurts to keep looking for something close to perfect.:D

I have found that almost all of the people that have problems with Power Pro is caused by the person using it.

If you use a bait that spins in any way, it causes line twists. When slack is introduced to the line (like when you jig and jerk your rod) the line wraps in a loop. This usually happens at the reel because the bail, as it spins, throws the line in a larger spiral and then wraps that loop in the spool on the reel. The next time you cast, the line exiting the spool grabs the loop and then... PFFFFFT! Wind knot...

You will see testimony from people claiming that they fixed the problem by going to a larger line (from 10# to 20#) or changing brands which may have a larger diameter or other proponents that make the line stiffer. By making these changes to rid your problem with wind knots, you are also down grading because the stiffer line or thicker line diameter is not going to cast as far. Depending on the brand, the length of life you get from a spool may also decline and have to respool more often. In other cases, you may even end up with line made in the same factory with another brand label stamped on it.

So, before you swap lines, ask yourself this... Do you just want a change or do you really want to figure out what the problem is and fix it?

I have recently switched from PP to Sufix braid on one of my reels. I use 10# to 15# line all the time and I get to many wind knots with the PP. I'm hoping for less wind knots and if thats what I get I will switch all my reels over to sufix, but if I keep getting the same results I'll keep hunting for a new braid.

are you talking suffix braid or just suffix mono?

i HIGHLY doubt there is any difference in durability between the two braids......

suffix isnt as strong as pp

the min you get wrapped around a pylon you will get busted off

i dock fish alot and pp has never let me down gettin big fish out from under the docks my friend brandon got a 35in red out of a dock that circled a pylon twice and took a huge run out to the open and he still got it out

but when i spooled my stradic with suffix i got busted off by a black snapper (grey) for you southern floridians the min my line touched the pylon

def suffix is better for wind knots but for durribility and strenget pp is the way to go:)

i still use power pro and yes everynow and then i get a wind knot or two but the last time i used sufix it sucked crap i was using 10 pound test and everyfish i hooked up into broke me off that is the crappiest line i have ever used and will never use it again

After fishing with just about every braid line out there, I now only fish sufix braid. I had the same problem with power pro and a few others, but i have absolutely NO complaints with sufix. Hope that helps you out.
