The NJ surf and boat reports for Stripers has been the best we have seen in over 15+ years! We have huge pods of Menhaden/Pogys/Bunkers up and down the NJ coast and in the Western LI Sound where I run my charter service, Long Run Fishing Charters.

We are routinely catching fish from 12-43 pounds fishing with the schools of bunker by live lining or dropping heads and chunks within the schools on fish finder rigs. On occasion they are chasing the bait to the top and we can catch them on Poppers and Metal Lipped Swimming Plugs like Dannys or Gibbs...

July is shaping up nicely in the Western Sound with Fluke, Blues, Porgies, Weakfish and Sea Bass making their presence.

Have a good summer and if you make it up this way give me a call
Capt.
