Vaca Cut in the same vicinity is a secret held close by the locals. They will make up some knee deep shit to convince you not to fish it including murdering transient that live beneath and all kinds of ghost stories. After I while as I grew up with trip or two a year my Shakespeare hit home and I found the "though dost prostest too much." Fish it, it does scream at times but it holds good snook too and the adrenalin constantly pumps at the outsized linesiders slurping in big baits.

One thing you will find out about bait shop owners in the keys is that they are far more open than most areas and will willingly offer accurate up to date info for those who take the time to ask and and are truly attentive. In the early mornings fish the 7-mile bride boat channell and the pilings all around it for some slab size mangroves as well. Have fun. If you are not familiar with the keys, I'd suggest Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge. It's center of all things you wanna do down there, offer nice,k clean, very cold a/c filled trailers. Walk out on the porch in the mornings and the key deer will sit and have breakfast with you..

c

RE: Keys trip

basicly any bridge, backcountry channels/cuts, and the ocean side flats

Keys trip

I live in the central fl. and fish both east and west coast and am making my first trip in two weeks to the Keys and staying in Marathonin.
