Hoss,

I was down around cudjoe about a few weeks ago and the pinfish are thick on the grass flats. we were usin a chumblock out the bak and catchin snapper wit shrimp while we waited and in a bout 5 mins got about 30-40 pinfish. also, I heard that the big threads were around the bridges and u had to sabiki them. thats all I know so good luck

DEPENDING ON WHAT YOUR GOING FOR.... BUT INSHORE TOP WATER SPOOKS PEARL/WHITE AND THE TROUT LOOK ALIKE CATCH JUST ABOUT EVERY SPECIES... LIVE BAIT=MULLET... CAST NET THEM UP IN THE CHANNELS THEN HOOK THEM IN THE BACK AND LET THEM DO THERE THING

Hoss cast net them or use a sabikir rig with small hooks, you can tip the sabiki rigs with small pieces of cut squid tentacles or shrimp!

For cast netting all i do is this:

Take a can of tuna fish, toss a lil out, and youll see the pinfish attack the tunafish, and toss a lil more out, and cast net right after the bait ahs hit the water, works for me, should work for you!

I would getcha a cast net and practice throwin' it... PinFish are nice, but they tend to go straight to the bottom and find grass to hide in once you throw 'em out there on a hook... Pilchards are the ticket; my friend... GreenBacks, Threadies, SpanishDines, whatever floats your boat... Anything white will handle the bizness... You'll find them schoolin' all over the place near the top of the water column out there... Predator fish love 'em. It's like candy! I think Calusa Cast Net website's got a video on tips on throwin' a net if you can't... Good Luck to ya...

Im goin to little torch key in sept. and was wondering how easy is it to get pinfish down there. Are they thick in the grass flats like they are in the goon? Any advice on baits please. Or if anyone knows some good spots to fish around there.
