I run the RS 15 for my Guide Service, and I love it! It is super stable, and can run super shallow. I am trying to sell mine now, I need a boat that I can fish the tourneys in (the rs is a foot to short), now that I had an offer to be pro staff for Ranger boats. The RS is a great little boat for two anglers and one person on the pole. If I could afford to keep my RS, I would! But if you ever want a test drive one, just call over to the shop and they will set you up. And I agree you do get what you pay for!

RE: Flats boat advice

I don't guide much anymore, but my clients are very impressed with my Banshee Extreme. The ride IS NICE, SHALLOW, QUIET EVINRUDE, NO HULL SLAP AND NOT AS TIPPY AS A HB OR BT. And for what you get, they are not over priced.
'nuf said

RE: Flats boat advice

JMO. but I think if I was in the market for a tps, I would seriously get ahold of Dave Sutton and check out his new Terrapin Skiff and schedule a test ride. Knowin Captain Dave , there has been alot of thought put into the design , and I am sure that Captain Karl had a little influence in that design:D. The two of them together , more than likely makes for a top of the line , ultimate design in a flats boat ! And the fact that they are both ..part of the family , sort of helps influence my personal opinion ;)

RE: Flats boat advice

http://www.maverickboats.com/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/23764/

little more $$$ but seems to fit the bill

RE: Flats boat advice

mosquito lagoon, wanna run fast but dont want anything bigger then a 60, i mean 40 maxed out is fine. running from titusville for tournys and $ up to 22 new or used

RE: Flats boat advice

Lagoon boats are out business but i think they a one 15 left, anyways

where do you fish??? will you be poling most of the time or fishing deeper water

will you be running across large bays or small backcountry channels

Fly or spin

and most important want is your max amount of $$$$$ to spend

RE: Flats boat advice

if u are going to guide i would not get a banshee extreme besides that they are way over priced they have only 1 captians seat in the back while your clients are up on front on a cooler tye of seat. beavertails are defianitly nice boats but maybe check lagoon boats they are each hand made with attention to detail assuring u get a nice boat...

RE: Flats boat advice

hey dude i would get the new beavertail but i looked at the banshee to and the steering is sick...! see if you can get that steering setup

Flats boat advice

Well, I have a BeaverTail skiff it it is awsome.
