They gave us a great show at MMIII.....by the way,Big Thanks to AF for bringing us that one :D.....I fel in love with thier style of mixing Bluegrass and Rock,to come up with some kind of Bluerock :w00t:......Not many can do "War Pigs" and " Detroit Rock City " with a Banjo,Mandolyn,and Fiddle,and make it sound better ;)

I have found some of thier newer stuff........nothing like thier Tribute stuff:Whistling:

Same here FlatsKracker, mostly talk when I'm working. I start out the morning with The Monster in the Morning then The Shannon Burk Show and The Philips Phile on drive home. Music is for the weekend and I hear ya on that Akon!

What about the new Kid Rock song, All Summer Long....now that's a good song. Gotta love some Kid Rock!:D

Not much for rap, unless you count "wierd Al" LOL. To each his own, the problem I have with it, is people playing it in their car stereos so loud that even when 3 blocks away my windows rattle, and I can't even hear my own TV.... Idiots. Of coarse it forces me to take actions into my own hands, and needless to say, there are at least 9 less cars doing it in my neighborhood now. That's all I'm going to say about that LOL.

You may just have become one of my heros. I like most types of music except rap and hip-hop, but I have seen the Grateful Dead play 81 times from the East Coast to the West and have seen many small towns get over populated quickly...but the little town in Maine story is a great one!!! If you can remember the dates (roughly, or at least the town and year, I may have that show on tape...drop me an e-mail.)

It's funny too, thinking of music, since I grew up in Chicago, country was pretty much non-existant...but after moving to Alaska and now Lower alabama, it's all I seem to listen to other than the Dead...

Yeah we had an old outdated theatre here for years that played that every friday night, we used to go there just to watch all the people show up in full costumes, man was that funny LOL!!! They finally shut it down a few years ago, it was a cool place though, instead of theatre seats, they had tables and chairs, served beer and food,(excellent hot wings) and you could smoke too. It was one of the last best places around where you could really enjoy yourself. Every place now, is so stuffy, uptight and politically correct to the point of terminal boredom. Well at least we have our memories.

As I was growing up I was around many different types of music, anything from the oldies (50's 60's), classic rock, R&B, metal, alternative, and most styles of country. Now I seem to be stuck in the 90's alternative and yes still rock out to Metallica and through in some country (old school stuff) Johnny Cash, Hank and others. But when it comes down to it I pretty much listen to everything and mostly talk radio (real radio 104.1) while I'm working driving the truck. The radio stations in Orlando just seem to play the same blame thing over and over and over.

you definitly had a VERY cool aunt growing up, you're very lucky. My favorite aunt used to hold pool parties and she always played Hank Williams Sr., and to this day I still love it too. She's gone now but she gave me a lot of good memories. She used to sing on top of a piano when she was younger, so you know she was cool. AC/DC made it's way into my blood when I was like 15 and will never leave. Jama got me a box set of their concert videos and never seen before stuff for Christmas, and when I am feeling sick, or just down, I put in a DVD and run it through my stereo speakers and crank it, and soon I'm feeling a lot better and have more energy. It's great for depression too. Thanks for posting this thread it's unique,fun and another great way to learn more about each other.

Capt.Karl : My Aunt took me to my first Concert.....Pink Floyd,"Animals" Tour at the State Fairgrounds in Tampa.....then the Second was Led Zep at the old Tampa Stadum.......Did I mention that I had a Very Cool Aunt ;).......but I think the best Concert that I`ve been to was when I lived in this tiny Beach-Town in Maine,they brought in a Double A Baseball Team,Nice Feild,then they started to have small concerts...........Well someone Slipped,and booked the" Garcia Band " not knowing it was the Greatful Dead.....:w00t:....Old Orchard Beach,Ma went to sleep the night before with a Population of about 300,and woke up to find that number had changed by about 50,000......:w00t:.......Dead-Heads all over the beach,Traffic and Parking was crazy to say he least,but I must say it was a full day of Intertainment...........and that town was never the same :D

Mike : Hard to go wrong with AC/DC......From Hells Bells,to the next 9 songs ;)

MF : Alot of good music there ;)

Shelly : Attutude Adjustment and Footlights are my fav of Hank Jr .......every time I search Hank Jr,I find another song that I`ve never heard.....Great Stuff :cool:

Well I hate to sound one sided, because I like all kinds of music, but if I could only pick one, it would be AC/DC. Oh, HAPPY BIRTHDAY there Capt.!!!! and by the way 51 isn't old, don't waste any time thinking it is because before you know it, you'll be 71 and saying to yourself, "wow all those years thinking I was old, when I was just a kid at 51". I began at age 2, directing/conducting classical music in front of an RCA record player with a broken tv antenna. The 60's got me into the Beach Boy's and Frank Sinatra which evolved into Steppenwolf, The Door's and Jimi Hendrix. Early in high school while the air was full of CDB, The Allman Borthers and the Doobies,I went to alot of live concerts to see the artists first hand with Pink Floyd(Darkside of the Moon tour 76) as the hall mark.While at a Peter Framton show(Come Alive tour Miami) , a warm up band called Returnn to Forever took the stage featuring Chic Corea and Stanley Clarke on bass. THIS,was my conversion to to what is now my main stream music preference,smooth and contemporary jazz.

I do listen to all music in general and here in Jensen Beach,the 80's rock and roll seems to be played alot but there is a grunge station as well as FM 88.9 public radio that is classical. Sue and I did attend the last Pink Floyd world tour Divison Bell which kicked off in Miami in 94 and have seen Rush several times over the years so the smokin' Fender Stratacaster leads and lasers with heavy bass and drums in a live concert are still in fashion once in awhile....:w00t:

Today started with a drive by RPC to the beach for a sunrise beach check and a thanks to God for the morning and giving me another year as I turn 51 years old today.....:D

Growing up,I had all types of music to choose from in the Family.....Mom was into Motown,and had Sam Cook crank`n ,constantly

One set of Grandparents was Old Country...Charlie Pride,Ronnie Milsap,George Jones,every Sunday after Church ;)

The other set was Blue-Grass.......Pop played anything with Strings,but the Mandolyn was my favorate:crying:

I have an Aunt that introduced me to her Record Collection when I entered Jr.High....everything from New Riders Of The Purple Sage,Ten Years After,Mohogany Rush,Led Zep

Highschool was Hard Southern Rock...Skynard,Hatchet,Outlaws,CDB

Pink Floyd......Many Hour`s with my Head-Phones

Then the Monsters Of Rock.......Ozzy,Van Halen,Scorps,Motley Crue

Now in my 40`s,I listen to Rehab and Union Station....Go Figure :P
