I guess that must be an "Alabama thang".

Trout and Spanish Macks are going strong 300 yards from the boat ramp....when do plan on towing that thing down? Hooking into a 40 lb redfish under the bridge would be fun too!

Thanks for the advice Tom. I ordered a tire and rim from Harbor Freight. I'm also gonna put some new wheel bearings in this weekend, plus keep an extra set on hand.

I registered the boat and trailer today and put the numbers on. Then I found out I have to get a boat endorsement on my drivers license...jeeest, its a dang canoe....anyways.

I guy at work provided me with a 6 hp Evinrude 2 Smoke to use as long as I need it...he just doesn't want to sell it. So Im still looking for a motor. Would like a 9.9 or there about.

The motor was sitting in his shed for 7 yrs. As far as I can tell its a 1976. Took the cover off and it looks brand new underneath. One of the prop blades has some damage to the end but nothing serious. Will probably pick one up this weekend as well. Got a new gas tank and lines today. Set it up on the boat in a tub of water, changed the lower end fluid, pumped new grease in the steering, cleaned the plugs and pumped the ball a few times... three pulls and it started right up. Played with the mixture a bit and it seems ready to go. I'm gonna put it in the lake tomorrow with my GPS and see what it will do.

Next I'm gonna add a bow mount trolling motor. Then enjoy the summer.

Over the winter I think Im gonna pull it in the shop and go to town on a custom interior. Seen lots of cool stuff on www.customgheenoe.com. Would like to put a deck fore and aft as well as a live well and cooler. If I find a motor with a charging system I'll put lights on as well. Maybe stick steering too, or a longer tiller.

I thought you sold that place last year...Guess not ..........but I`m glad that you will be attending this year :D

Noe looks great,and I see what ya mean about the trailer being a flat hauling trailer,but it looks like it will work fine,just get a Spare Wheel,and an extra set of Bearing`s,and you should have no problems with a long trip ;)
