We had to say goodbye to Lucky yesterday . . . his battle with prostate cancer ended with him in my arms and he will suffer no longer. For all of you pet lovers out there I'm sure you can empathize with our sorrow as Lucky was such a gift to our family. Many of you got to meet the little beagle at boat shows, Mogan Mania and on the FLW Tour - he will always be in my heart!!

Celebrity Softball Game

Hey everyone,

If you can't make it up to the weigh in tomorrow to see Blair go check out the celebrity softball game at Viera Stadium. The game is being hosted by the World Skin Cancer Foundation. May is skin cancer awareness month so they will be doing free skin cancer screenings beginning at pm.

FLW Redfish Tour - Panama City Update

Well, as Travis and Blair were pulling up to the dock

I mentioned to them that the largest weight I had heard yet was 14 lbs 2 oz, and you should have seen the smiles on thier faces.....

Seems as if the fishing was pretty good in Blair and Travis' honey hole, and here are the standings after day 1....

As you can see, the guys are in first place, and had two fish that got everyones attention (specially the competition)

It turned out to be a pretty windy day today with 20-25mph winds predicted for tomorrow, so lets hope the fish stay put, and Travis and Blair can repeat todays performance......

Will hopefully be able to post video of the weigh-in later, and also updates after Fridays weigh-in......

FLW Redfish Tour-Update....Day 2 "Pigs Baby"

The guys found the big fish again today, weighing in another 15 lbs 9 oz for a two day total of 31 lbs 7 oz.......3.5 lbs in front of 2nd place!

I got down to the dock just in time to see Blair with a 40 lb bag of ice on his shoulder.....always a good sign that the redfish in the well are MOGANS and pushing 27 inches.

Both fish measure and the weight for day two is 15 lbs 9 oz, or as Blair called them "Pigs Baby!" (you will most likely see that on the FLW Show, as the camera was about 6 inches from his nose as he said it)

It seems there were a couple of boats that had an earlier start time waiting for Travis and Blair to "lead the way" to their little honey hole. Blair said the school had formed back up into one large school of over 1,000 fish today, instead of the broken pods of fish they spotted yesterday. With the field narrowed down to 5 boats, it shouldn't get as crowded tomorrow, hopefully our local weekend anglers will cooperate and show some consideration (weather is predicted to be bad, so maybe most people will stay off the water alltogether).

Hey All :D

I`m an Auto Tech at a High Volume A/C Shop,we do alot of costom work on Older Car`s and Truck`s,and we get to see some very nice work that the Owner`s have done to these older auto`s. Doing this kinda work,I`ve been behind the wheel of just about every auto that you can think of,from the 944,to a Pantera........but I`m a sucker for the Old Truck`s ;)

WOW! Just went over to the FLW site to check up on Blairs adventures in the Lone Star State and saw the FLW Redfish tour will be in PCB May 1-3. I'm marking the calendar for days off when I get to work this afternoon!

Guess I'm going to have to get out and do some scouting!!!

Can't wait to see you guys....Mogan Mania is still too far off, so maybe this will hold me over 'til Aug 1st!

I'm bored at work, and just thought I would throw up some random pics. I'm going to order carpet for my boat when my tax refund check hits! She's not much, but she gets the job done. She's a 1988 Stratos 256v 16' with a 1992 Evinrude 70. She'll run about 42 mph loaded, and fishes, I think, bigger than a 16' boat. I'll throw a picture of my truck in too! Notice I'm reppin' the Costa Del Mar, and CCA stickers!

Shooting an AF show

I will start off by saying it was a real treat to be at work and receive a call from Blair, and an honor to be offered the chance to use my boat as the camera boat for the first Hi-Def episode of Addictive Fishing and see what goes on behind the scenes.

Trim-Tab and I dropped the boat off the hoist and headed for the boat ramp, making a short detour by one of our favorite fishing spots ......Trim-Tab managed to hook into a couple upper and over-slot redfish, while I caught a pompano dinner for Fishndbridge and Lyken_moon. We pull the boat and are off to the races to get everything ready for the trip to Shell Point.

We hit the road about 9PM, after a delay that was caused by Trim-Tabs truck (our tow vehicle) being hit in a parking lot an hour before we planned to leave. Thanks to Lyken_moon, they managed to get the truck back on the road and we were finally on our way. We arrived in Apalachicola and got about 2 or 3 hours of sleep before meeting up with Blair and heading on to Shell Point. We stopped to fuel up the boat, and noticed the winds were already blowing 15mph at 6 AM, not looking very good.......

We meet up with our guide for the day, Capt. Jody Campbell, and head out......

We head about 3 miles out into Apalachicola Bay, and find the winds blowing hard, and less than favorable conditions, but anchor up to start fishing.

Blair and Jody hook into several different species of fish from small grouper to trout and even a couple of small cobia.

After a while, things start to calm down a bit and we move up to some flats where the guys tore up the trout using the D.O.A. Deadly Combo...On the way we shoot a couple clips of the AF Ranger running

We get up on the flats where the guys start tearing into the trout, and get a few close-up shots

Towards the end of the day, (and it was a long day) Blair starts to demonstrate various rod handling techniques (still not sure if he was making fun of my right hand retrieve spinning reels, lol)

I guess a snake thought Blair was waving him over, 'cause shortly after that shot they had a snake wanting to come aboard the Ranger, the Minn Kota out-ran the snake, but it wasn't from lack of effort on the snakes part......he wanted in the boat really bad.

We headed back in and Blair did the "Bait Check"......after a long day on the water and a bunch of people at the ramp forming an audience, it requires a few takes to make Bryan happy with the footage......I will upload some of the video later.

I don't mind saying that I have an entirely new appreciation for what goes into shooting a show, and that its not nearly as easy as they make it look in the final product. I still don't know how Bryan shoots video in 3 foot waves without getting sick.....I could barely snap a still shot and he was shooting long segments non-stop, not to mention about 30 lbs of camera gear on his shoulder.

Blair also has my respect (even more than before), we spoke several times in the days leading up to the shoot, and every time, no matter how early or late it was, he was on the water pre-fishing for the FLW Tourney. Now, I fish for 10 hours some days, but not constantly throwing artificial baits, and not doing it for 10 or 11 days in a row! This guy is like a robot on the water!

Rumor has it that this episode, the first one shot in HD, will be airing sometime around the end of June, but there was no confirmation on the exact air date.

I will try to add some of the "Bait Check" video later.....most of the files are too big to upload.

Moose Update

I just realized from playing all over the forum that there has not been a Moose update in quite a while. Moose is now 1 year old and since Maine Coons grow for 4 years he is still a baby. Here is a new picture of him on the window shelf in my studio. Dave built the shelf for him for Christmas. He is so big he would fall off the window sill whenever he dozed off.

At one year his weight was 15lbs 4 ozs. The breeder said her BIG maine coon cats usually weigh 12-13lbs at one year! He was one on April 2nd. I gave him a stuffed squirrel for his birthday. He is still a doll.

Just as loving and sweet as you could possibly want.I have never seen him angry and have never seen him hiss. He is about 16 lbs now.

You may think he has torn our house up, but not at all. He has not scratched or ruined ANYTHING. We taught him what his nails were when he was little and taught him not to use them. He lets me cut them whenever I cut mine. He plays and batts you with his feet but "No nails".

New Boat

Finally got out of my john boat and just got my 1st flats boat today and I love it. I got a great deal on a Aqua Force 16ft Fish Hawk. Pretty much already had everything to stalk the flats, but I'm sure I'll find a few gotta have it things later.

My darling 25 year old daughter has recently informed me that she has joined the Army!! After completely freaking out, then finding out the situation I can now say I'm the proud parent of Army enlistee!

She apparently scored in the top 10 percent of new recruits and got her choice of jobs (in writing). She is going to be going into Military Intelligence.

She's leaves on April 21, for 10 weeks of Boot Camp in Missouri, then on to Arizona for Advanced Individual Training for 20 weeks and then back to Ft. Benning in Georgia for her Officer Training.

Guess that's what she decided to do with her Bachelor's Degree in International Affairs and Finance.

I can say I'm still a bit nervous but VERY PROUD of my baby girl! Man they grow up WAY TOO FAST!

Many of you have had to deal with this before, with hurricanes and floods.

Last week, the torrential rains caused Doug's house to flood. Sometimes, I think it would be easier to lose everything, than to have to dig through and figure out WHAT you have lost.

All of Doug's things, and most of my things were in there, and so much was stored in the room that was hardest hit. Sure will make division of property easier, I suppose.

Not looking for sympathy...more like pearls of wisdom, I guess.

Yo, Moganators! I'm Josh, I live in Birmingham, AL...I know, no where near the coast! I get down to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, AL alot throughout the year. I have done some inshore fishing there and in Louisiana. Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself, I have been lurking for a few days. I will be down in Gulf Shores in April, and I'm hoping to get on some fish wading the lagoon/bay, and also doing some surf fishing! Anyways, this is a cool site ya'll got going here, and I'm looking forward to spending more time on the coast. Bass fishing takes up most of my time being here in central, AL, but I have to say skinny water is where I long to be!

As many of yall know,Bones {My Wife} has delt with Cancer for several year`s now,and has done very ,but Now the real fight starts.

She has been moved into a Hospice Care Unit,and we need all the good thought`s and Prayer`s that we can get right now.

Those of you that know her,and would like to see her,now is the time,she still looks good,she will know who you are,but I know that with these Massive Doses of Morphine,it`s just a matter of time before that is no longer possable.

Sorry about the lack of response to the p.m.`s and posts , but our computer is down and I come over to Nitas once in awhile to check up on things :crazy:

To clarify some confusion for evryone ...Brenda had surgery for carpal tunnel last Monday and Brendas MOM had a stroke Saturday morning. so the whole batch of them a messed up some way or another !:w00t:

Brenda is doing good with her recovery but is still having some pain, she will be out of work for quite awhile but it seemed to help alot.

Brendas MOM , had a stroke and was going into congestive heart failure by the time EMS arrived , but as of today , she has a touch of pneumonia but dosent seem to be to much ill effects from the stroke, she is awake and talking and raising cain becuase she cant have much to drink and she is needing a cigarette ! So I gues things are about back to normal.

I start my new shift tomorrow working 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. ...freakin yipppee:angry: but I will be off evry other weekend so I will give you a call Jeff when ...if things calm down ! lol

Thanks for the prayers and posative energy , it worked again !
