went out to merrit island refuge this morning (saturday) and got 4 duack...2 blue bills and 2 hoodies!!! had a great time for the last hunt of the season...leaving to go hog hunting this afternoon!!! i will let you guys know how i do!

Yea, I'm gonna try em' in the morning too! I've got the battery charging on my GATOR TRAX duck boat and just got finished packing the blind bag. Instead of going up to my lease in north Ms; I'm gonna stay down here on the Ms coast and hunt the marsh by the house. It's a tradition to close the last weekend of season in the same marsh I started this feathered addiction in some 27 years ago...;) And as usual; all 7 of my chocolate labs know whats going on and they're trying to jockey for position in being the lucky dog that gets to go!:P Funny how they know that stuff... But to their dismay; I'm taking the old dog. He deserves it! He's 11 and this is probably his last year. After probably 1000 ducks and geese he's retrieved in his lifetime and being my most trusted friend; it will be bitter sweet... But all in all; he's old and tired "can't hardly make it through the needle grass marsh anymore", and I got the word yesterday; I will probably be deploying at the end of October. So that means no duck season next year...:angry:

The last phase ends this weekend,im going over to the sta's in clewiston.hopefully i will get a couple greenwinged teals or hoodies. Any budy else going for there last hunt this season?
