Just thought it be neat to see how many of you guys do? Also what do you fish for normally?

I fish a lot for snook on fly, also largemouth bass and panfish. Have caught jacks, and spanish mackeral on fly. Snook put up the best fight so far and I've caught more of them than anythign else on fly, well might have caught more bass who knows.

Also what was the first fish you caught on fly? I think mine was a snook, and it took about 5 tries to finally get one! I can't horse em' out from under a dock on 12# tippet like i can on 15# powerpro lol.

Hey guys, My names Dave. I'm new on here but have been a Florida Sportsman forum member for about 5 years. I also post on Microskiff, Custom Gheenoe, and Flats Class. I'm 18 years old and a Senior at Lake Howell High in Orlando but I fish the Spruce Creek area of Volusia County every week from my Gheenoe. I mainly fish artificials but will use bait if I feel it is needed to produce in certain situations.

Snook is my favorite fish and always in my game plan when I head out on the water. I noticed some of you guys with Snook photos from the Daytona area....always willing to chat and share tips with my locals. Last time I hit the creek I lost 2 Slot snook on Bombers, landed 1 under. One 10lb Tarpon on Catch 2000 and 2 small trout. Had a Red chase my Spook Jr. but he turned away. Missed the grand slam.

Has anybody tried out the new line of lures that rapala has came out with? X-Rap Shad, Subwalk, X-Rap Walk... If you have; What are your opinions. To me... i personally think these lures are the best so far and would be hard to duplicate by any other manufacturer. Subwalks are the best.

Today I went down to Brandon and got to see "Uncle" Blair! I call him uncle just because. My family supports the Mogan Man because he knows how to fish the RIGHT way! The last time I saw him was about 4 years ago, at a boat show. I remember the day when my mom wanted a picture of me with him and I wouldn't let him put his arm around me, that was SO funny. But this time, I actually let him put his arm around me! LOL!! I love this forum, it gives me a chance to talk to all the other Mogan lovers out there. I am proud to be friends with Kevin McCabe, Patrice McCabe, and Capt. Blair, they are like my second family! I love them SO much!:)

Just wanted to say hello, I live in Jupiter, Fl, am 14 and do alot of night snook fishing, Normally on fly, but haven't fished fly in awhile. Lately have been going up to hole in the wall and some spots up in Stuart. I fish around Munyon Island too and catch snook and trout up there. Haven't caught anything spectacular lately wen to false hole in the wall last Saturday and managed to catch some snapper and get wrapped by a bunch of snapper/snook/grouper in the horrible weather we had that day.

me and my friend were heading up to a freshwater dam and thier are always manatees coming back and forth to drink from it, so when we got up there, out of nowhere a here splashing and look behind me and see his kayak completely upside down and him in the water. and when he fell in he scared the manatees and they started splashing their tails in the air cuz they were scared. funny crap!:D

Looking for someone that loves to fish like myself to go out on my boat with me a 2001 16ft actioncraft with a 2006 115opti max with bobs jackplate and 82lb motorguide and chartplotter. So bascially i got everything needed.

If anyone lives over in Boca grande and fishes gasprialla sound or bull bay and the back water and knows some good spots for reds and if possible tailing reds and some nice snook. I kno a few spots mainly on the mangroves for snook and i find reds on the flats tailing but can never get them to eat.

Also if you fish in the PG area and willing to go fishing with me and show me around some spots would be great and fun day. I am 18 years old and will flip the gas bill if you can deff put us on some fish if not well you pay the gas bill:D

I live in arcadia and i am 18 and have that boat along with a f150 king ranch truck so if you know spots and want to go let me know

Hey guys,

I met a nice family who has an 8 year old son who has recently gotten hooked on fishing, he lives in Stuart Florida and fishes a nearby freshwater pond, but hasn't had much luck. I donated a lot of gear that we had lying around, but not much for freshwater. He is really excited, and they want to encourage his newfound love to keep him out of trouble in the future. Anyway I gave him all the advise I could on freshwater, river, and saltwater fishing and tackle to match and a number of spots to try. However I know way less about freshwater, and would like to increase his knowledge so that he gets really addicted, and the best way to do that is with shared experience. So I am asking for any help, you know, any tricks, knots, baits, spots to look for, presentation etc.

Please post ANYTHING that can help increase his chances, and make him look good in the process LOL. Thanks guys.

My son Henry, who's pic has been on this site a few times got to fish with his Uncle Taco on the "Hooked Up" out of Ft Lauderdale. Very slow down there off shore but did manage a few fish.

okay well theres this lake in my community and this lake is so thick with carp it unbeleivable. I started off chumming with bread as the carp rose to the surface to feed ai lightly casted a chunk of bread on my free lined hook and i recommend using no wait because the bread floats and you can see the carp swallow the bait and it pretty frekin awesome. Well that show i got my second carp and my first was on a rapala x-rap orange, the third on a potato/ bread ball boiled and seasoned fished on bottom.

I waded at the Oneida lake dam the other day for my first small mouth. 4th cast , my first smallie, 2 1/4 pounder. These fish fight better than a 2 1/4 largemouth, IMO> :)

I'm new to the forums. But I thought I would share an experience some friends and I had over spring break.
First off, I'm from St. Pete FL and I'm 18. My friends that I go with are 17 and 15.
We like to fish at a wreck called the Betty Rose and the South County Reef, both are about 14 miles off shore.
The best day during Spring Break we caught 6 King Fish and 3 Nurse Sharks, the sharks were about 6ft-8ft.

Snook on Hook!

Although this was many years ago, I intend to tell my story. It was about 8 PM, and our floodlights are on, while we are docked in Useppa Island Marina. While I was just dropping in my line, for fun, no bait just a bare hook, and then on my third drop, a huge STRIKE! Now at this time i'm only 7 years old. While i'm fighting this monster, it starts going under our boat, to cut the line under the prop, while I reach over, and finally pull it in. We weighed it in, a Whoppin' 36 lbs! And 46 Inches! Now this may seem unreal, but it was one heck of a fight!
