Because fly fishing seems to be in a class all of its own, the thrill of what you catch is all its own as well. It is all a blast on fly!!!

I'll bet you had the title of this post thought of before you went out! Glad to hear that you got her to use "the long rod". Now she'll get hooked on it and you'll have to buy another rod, reel, backing, fly line... Next thing you know you'll be buying another fly tying vise.

Sharon Learns To Strip

Sharon and I went out this morning looking for a redfish to go with the flounder we brought home yesterday but all we found were stinkpots using trolling motors everywhere we wanted to be.

We pulled out away from the shoreline and found a few bites. I managed a trashcan slam on the flyrod. Someone said something about how much fun a sailcat would be on a flyrod in another post... let me tell ya, IT IS!

I handed the rod over to Sharon for her first experience in fly fishing. As any newcomer, the casting has much work to be done but she strips just fine. :w00t:
