the one i posted is a complete setup that is ready to fish... just tie on a fly and you are ready... i wouldnt worry about getting a bunch of flys over a higher quality rod....

you can order thier catalog from the site and when you get it check page 27...

You can really catch just about any fish on even a small fly rod. With plenty of backing you would be suprised what you could land.

I think in 8wt is a pretty good general saltwater fly rod.

I dont see any snook around my flats, near the bridge, but mornings i spot a few, and i cannot go mornings, Dont go to bed till 8 am as it is...lol!

Im lookin for a good combo, like that, FOR:

Trout, bluefish, good sized jacks, etc.....

i hope that rods good for the jacks!

Vlap, space is just good enough! i have a 2 pc. 7 foot rod, that i take apart and store in my backpack, and i fits next to my pc, just wonderfully! just need to have my cats not to floss teeth with power pro....ouch!

9 foot, i can handle, im sure, 2 pieces is just good enough, when i take my rod apart, 7 footer, its small, 3.5 feet each pc. so its small enough, but 9 foot, 4.5 feet each, will just be the same!

i get some big bluefish around my flats, usually when i dont wade, they are there, figures, but once i get that flyrod, im most definitely bringing it every time!

and if no good fish is around, i can toy with the pinfish! i may start tieing my own stuff, on weekends, and breaks from school!

Looks nice. 8 weight would be good to start. I can handle snook easily on mine.

mangrove... i am not sure of the quality of the rod and reel but if i was going to purchase this deal i would get 908 or 908-4...

thats the 8weight 2 and 4 piece model... i would go with the 2 piece but if you are limited on space maybe the 4 piece 8 weight would be better...

i have a 9 weight and it is tough enough to easily handle the snook you saw a picture of. a 7 would handle that. i take the 8 cause it will cast a little easier in the wind and if thats going to be your only flyrod you may as well go heavy. I want to buy a 7 weight to compliment my collection and maybe next year i will buy a 12 weight for tarpon... but that is fantasy thinking...

look for a good 9 weight for a starter or that 8 you were looking at... just my 2 cents..
