That first piece of leader make a short piece and tie a loop knot From there tie on your tapered leader with a loop knot as well. Now if you need to change leaders you don't have to cut your line. I will use a uni-uni along the length of the leader if I make my own and then finish with a loop knot. To this add your tippet with another loop knot. This keeps you from cutting your leader too often.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;As I have said before I am no expert.
