It is not as stable as some kayaks. If you flip it you either have to get it to the bank or pump it out. With a SOT kayak you just flip it back over and get back on.

The canoe can carry more stuff than most kayaks.

canoe or kayak

Hello everyone. I havnt been on the forum in a long time glad to see everyone still fishing and doing well. Just wanted to ask a question. Do any of you guys fish from a canoe? Iwas thinking of buying or maybe even building a wooden canoe. I have never used a kayak and was wondering about the pros and cons between the two. I will mostly be fishing small protected waters. any advise will be greatly appriciated.

    thanks.
