I know Rockn told ya to stay away from SportsAuthority,but thats the only place I am aware of that sell the kind I have...Check out the Pelican Castaway 12`6, http://www.sportsauthority.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2010452&cp=&sr=1&origkw=pelican+kayak&kw=pelican+kayak&parentPage=searchthat is what I have and its a very good beginner rig,and its cheap !..Vlap can tell ya it can handel even a light chop with no problem..only downfall of the boat is the paddle..it sucks:ermm: so get ya a good aftermarket paddle if ya go with that one..I hear they have improved the scupper holes since mine was new so the ride aint quite as wet

Stay away from Sports Authority/West Marine type places for your kayak purchases. Find yourself a kayak/canoe outfitter in your area. I'm sorry I'm not familiar with your are so I can't help you out with that part of it. Maybe someone from your neck of the woods will see this and help you out. Good Luck with your search. O, and do you know of any good stores around here or anything, and im going to check out Dick's Sporting Goods website here in a bit and maybe even sports authority but i dont know if they have decent Kayaks??

Im in Port St. John/Cocoa area, just south of Titusville

and, im fine with getting a used one i just needed some namebrands like the ones u have said to further my search :)

Fisher_boy, your best bet is to keep looking online and find a used kayak. It might still seem expensive because kayaks hold their value well but you will get a complete setup already rigged and ready to go.

Be careful asking for a "cheap" kayak because there are some boats on the market in the bigger sporting good chain stores that are nothing more than a piece of plastic that floats (for a while). Stay with the brand names that have been in the market for a while. Ocean Kayak, Wilderness Systems, Heritage, Hurricane, etc.

Where are you located? I might know of a kayak community in your area for you to check into.

Ok, I'm intrested in buying a Kayak, the only problem is like most people, MONEY!!!!!!! So if anyone can help, tell me a good/decent kayak maker, a reasonable price, and if you dont mind tell me a good kayak maker that is CHEAP??
