go to Quantums site i use there reels and rods if you get there dvd it breaks down how to take apart your reels and what to do to service them monthly and yearly it cover baitcasiters and spinningt reels and show you tech use in making reels really nice dvd also has pros catching fish fresh and saltwater species i bought one and gave it to a friend and then i got a free one for joining the pt club all you have to do is register with them when you buy a reel from them and they send you stickers and member number and dvd and you can earn points to buy clothing from them hope this helps.

If you don't know you probably should not attempt it your self.

You have to be mechanicaly comprtent. Dis-assemble the reel, remove the gears, sprockets, bushings, springs, and bearings. Clean with a cleaner or solvent, lubricate and re-assemble.

Grease for Gear`s

Oil for Bearing`s......:D

I hope this doesnt sound stupid but i'd like to know what the difference between reel oil and reel grease is? I use quantim hot sauce and it works great but whats the grease for? Someone please let me know how to use it and when to use it like after i oil my reel or before? Thanks alot guys.
