I throw it on a 12-25# am tack ats custom wrapped with an avet SX, that rod's really meant more for live baiting and putting the hurting on snapper but got bored one day and started throwing plugs on it which works great, had one 24-26" snook blow up on the BFl that day have caught 3 or 4 that size on it in the fall pitching up against the mangroves last fall when the mullet were in but that's it I don't really use it that much.

I use it with a twitch...twitch...twitch...then a pause for a couple seconds. I use it around the mullet schools mostly and the trout always slam it on the pause.

I purchased mine with the intentions of using it when the mullet start rolling into the lagoons. As for rod style, what style would you recomend.....something with a fairly stiff tip?!?!

Those things don't catch fish! :Whistling:

All I can suggest is find some clear water and play with it. You're going to have to find the right rod to throw it and play with the retrieve. Watch the action and get used to working it to repeat the wiggle you want.

Big lip for more of a steady retrieve.
Small lip for a jerkbait type presentation.
No lip is ugly topwater but very effective. Don't think of it as your normal steady, symmetric walk-the-dog action. Get that image far away from your thought process. Just think crazy wounded scared for its life finger mullet. Make it dash, dart, jump, splash, jitter, wiggle and wake. If there is a big fish around, you'll know it!

I haven't started using mine again this year yet. I think it is still too early.

I picked up a 5.5" BFL with the intentions of using it at MM but plan on hitting the flats with it to get the hang of the beast.

Anyone have any luck with this lure (cooknfish maybe:P)

Looking for tips on working it with the lips and without the lips.;)
