I rarely see people catch fish in a boat anchored up around the jetty's. if you want to catch loads of fish leave the boat at home! if you want to fish from your boat, the flats outside of the inlet are holding a lot of snook and oversized reds. The mogan snook have been holding around the north jetty blasting glass minnows and mullet. for them use a live pinfish, pigfish, croaker, or threadfin. if you want to just have fun fish the trough on the beach. cast arti's or livies into the trough next to the rocks on the jetty. the water has been so clean lately that you can actually stand on the jetty ( just so you can have a site adv.) and site fish the snook on the beach. average size is about 20" - 30" . Also the big reds have been moving out with the outgoing tide, preferably at dawn & dusk. any bait will work for them. If you get there and its incomming tide and there isn't much happening use a diamond jig and wear out the spanish macs.

hope that helps. im going down to the inlet this weekend too so ill post pics when i get back.

if you have any more questions just ask ;)

fishing sebastian

i have only been to sebastion inlet once ever on my boat about 9 months ago, it was a bad day, one snooklet, 2 jacks and a trout. thinkin about goin this weekend. i live in psj so sebastian is a drive, im hopin for some advice on good spots around the inlet and sebastion river, so the $45 of gas is not a waste. i have a 14ft jon boat, i am willin to go into the ocean and maybe down the beach some, but only at night. also can anyone give me a good snook spot out of the inlet to get away from the crowds. i am going to use a 7ft med heavy rod with a 5000 penn, with 30lb power pro, 50pd floro leader and and a live pinfish on a #4 cicle hook, i port fish for snook, i kno the gear needed. lol. i understand its a public forum so if u don't want to give ur spot away, u can pm me. i'll trade spots 2, i have many great redfish places with up to 20-40 pounders garanteed. thanks
