really good. when your looking for a rod take a friend with you and as you hold the rod out have your friend place it right under his adams apple and have him talk. its the best way to check sensitivity of the rods. if your looking for something cheap go with a ugly stick not very sensitive but its like the remington 870 it always goes bang and you'll pass it along to your kids.

RE: whats a good rod for the quantum catalyst saltwater reel?

I have 2 Quantum Catalyst and they have been pretty good to me. One although the drag knob broke. I think it was me tightening down the drag to tight on those dock snook.

I have them both on STAR Rods Model # SG816ISM 7'0" Stellar Lite. I like the STAR Rods because the eyes are larger than the new mdels that are out. The tiny eyes at the tip drive me crazy when my uni to uni gets stuck in the tip and next eye down.

I tell you these reels would be great on the Wright McGill Blair offers on this site! The 7'9" model.

I have a Wright McGill 8ft which I absolutely love! It has done battle with some MOGAN Snook and stood the test.

Good Luck!

"It only takes one"

GladesGhost

RE: whats a good rod for the quantum catalyst saltwater reel?

I would definetly go with the new airwave rod by sunami!

Bad *** rod for $80!and light as hell.;)

RE: whats a good rod for the quantum catalyst saltwater reel?

shimano compre

RE: whats a good rod for the quantum catalyst saltwater reel?

I saw a great rod in sports authority...
