| | a few weekends back i was wading with a buddy of mine in the banana river and we had a guy fly by us twice about 100 yards away from us then the guy proceeded to start fishing right in front of where we were fishing. the guy fished for 5 - 10 minuets then left. I wasn't to happy with not only the guy running buy that close but then to fish where we were. come on, this guy has a boat and can fish anywhere he wants and we were limited to wading that spot. sorry about the rant, but my question being how close should a boater get to someone wading ??? |

| Yes, that is too close. Keith and I try very hard to give the wader ample room. Plus, you never fish infront of someone that close.

| I feel the same, that was to close. I give as much room as possible no matter if your wading, in a kayak or another boat and always idle by.

| | The way you can tell if someone is too close is if their casting range is within your casting range, in that case, what I always do is throw my biat at them to give them a warning, that also works while oyu are on a boat |

| | You know I had the same type of thing happen around that time on the same river. I have a boat and this guy trolled right by me three times, almost toughing rails. I couldn't believe it. This guy must have thought it was a social gathering he's talking at the top of his voice, He spooked two large schools of Reds, he must have though they were mullet cause he came right up on top of them flapping away. I finally had to tell him the reds are right there in a whisper voice. Then he hook in to one later on a yells, do you keep Reds. By not responding just shaking my head I think he got the idea. He did say sorry, but he kept following me. I'm not really that upset, the guy just probably didn't know what the etiquette is when fishing around others... |

| I think there was some intentional passes to both of you guys in an attempt to chase you off of "his" fishing spot. I'll bet that he knew that there were reds in the area and he didn't want you to find or catch them. Joe |
