This weekend I am going on a fishing trip near Sarasota and I need some advice on what to bring to have some in-shore action with snook, reds, trout, tarpon, cobia, and jacks. I am basically fishing in the mangroves, grass flats, and inshore. I am from the north so I don't really know what to bring besides a sabalos reel, 10 lb. power pro, DOA shrimp, CALs, bait busters and some other DOAs. Please respond immediately so I can pack.

Also, what should I bring to catch 300 pound sharks. In the last three trips their, the guy I am going to fish with caught sharks (Blacktip, bonnethead, and nurse sharks) all over 300 lbs. I really need some advice so I can catch those sharks that are more than twice my size.

if its not too rough and you see plenty of bait in the area top water is the way to go man use it over flats particularly 5ft or less and right along the mangroves super spook jr. and mirror lure she dogs are my favorite

The bait on the first week was all giant threadfins. We caught a ton of it, but it was too big. What now?

find a lure that has the closest appearance to the threadfins and just something thats a little smaller than the actual bait

Great advise.  I'd mix in a 17MR in Silver or Green back.

I tried a storm threadfin shad deep diving lure, but the water was to rough where the mackeral were pound the bait. Would a small rat-L-trap work?
