How do you tie the "CanoeMan Knot". I'm old and I forgot. Classic case of C.R.S.

The Mogan Man used to have a video showing you how to tie the Canoe Man knot. Maybe they could dig it up from the archives and repost it. It used to be in the tips and tricks section.

you take the tag end and run it threw your lure then make a backwards loop and another backwards loop then take the second loop and pass it threw the first then pull tight it takes a little pratice but if you do it enough it becomes pretty easy to tie also got o doa's website it shows you how to tie the knot and the uni to uni knot.  hope this helps

When tied properly, I've never had one fail. It's quick and easy to tie and very strong.

I've actually broken 20 lb Power Pro before the loop knot failed!

I consider myself very fortunate since Merrill "The Canoeman" Chandler actually showed me how to tie this knot!

 Recommended Loop Knot

This loop knot was introduced to us by the canoe man Merrill Chandler and we found it to be the best one we have used because of it's ease to tie and the tag end of the leader faces rearward there by not catching grass.

Step 1

Run the tag end of the line through the eye of the hook. In the standing line make two backward loops as shown in the drawing. The standing line goes behind the tag end line.

Loop Knot

Step 2

The second loop goes through the front of the first loop.

Loop Knot

Step 3

The tag end then goes through the front of the second loop and bring the tag end of the line down to the side of the lure.

Loop Knot

Step 4

While holding the tag end of the leader and the lure stationary pull on the end of the line going to the rod.

Loop Knot
