make sure to use a long enough leader flurocarbon and make to not tocast your line over a fish cast in front but not over a fish then bring your bait to the fish head that way your not casting over the fish and it doesnt get to see the line before the bait

Solid advice in this thread: leading fish, using lighter leader, staying silent and still, using smallish lures, using the wind to drift toward your target, etc. Even with all of that working for you, sometimes fish just get lockjaw, especially in the cooler months. The good news? You're finding, seeing and casting to fish, which is arguably the toughest part of the equation. The rest is fine-tuning and patience.

Good luck to you.

usually the new berkley gulp will help you and what ever bait is there you can matcn it up with what gulp you use. the scent is the best and the scent will travel 3 times faster than live bait. cast it over them and let it sit. depending on how big of bait you use depends on how big of hook you use.

Wow...I have to agree with Crispy, lots of Good Info on this Topic

Welcome Aboard SneekySnooker .......Very good point about Watching The Fishes Reaction To Your Presentation......Once you catch thier Eye

As far as Line and Leader Size.....Rig for the Area.....I fish Grass-Flats in the North IRL and Skeeter Lagoon, and I use 10lb Mono for Single Red`s,but I use a 12lb leader, about 24" long for Schooling Red`s,they like running back into the Pack once they are hooked, and 10lb doesn`t stand a chance with ALL THOSE TAIL`S.........but there is nothing but Grass to worry about out on the Flat......but fishing closer to Mangroves,Dock`s,Rocks, and Heavy Current, you`ll need to bump it up for that area

Your Ahead Of The Game.....Enjoy The Sights

also try using an unweighted doa 3" shrimp nearclear with lanker sauce that works well and it sinks really slow with out weight can work when nothing else will or when sight casting to trout, reds and bonefish on a still day the bait really does splash much like this and it sinks really slow so the fish can see it and have time to get to the bait during the winter months.
