i just bought a quantum cabo nearoffshore mediumheavy rod and plan on buying their cabo 80 pt reel when it comes out.  i plan on using berkley big game hi test 20# line for backing and then using a top shot of berkley crystal fireline 20# with a 100# flurocarbon leader.  what knot should i use to connect my leader and mainline and then leader to my circle hooks?  thank for the help

You didnt ask for it but I think your main line weight is to light.

I would step up to 50# braid. I would down size on the leader a bit to 60 or 80 # floro.

The knot I use to connect main line to leader is a slim beauty.

My leader to hook has been a loop knot.

I havent had either fail on poons in the 140# class.

Just my opinion.
