I'm already not a big fan of this boat but I'd like to hear your take on it as well.

Well first let me say I am a Ocean Kayak fan.  IMO they make the best yaks.  And I must say out of all the yaks I have the Trident is by far the best offshore/inshore ride I have.  It is fast, paddels easy, and is set up well.

have you tired a ocean kayak big game or prowler 13 or 15 if so how does the new trident compare i have used a prowler 13 with a rudder and like it alot is tracks well and is fast enough but feel for fishing larger size fish like tarpon and sharks it maybe a little unstable when the fish gets right near the boat to land the fish  good luck tight lines catch a mogan

I have tried and in fact have 2 Big Games as well as a P13, a Drifter, and the Trident.

The Trident is a faster and dryer ride than the P13.  It is a little more stable as well.  The Big Game is the most stable kayak on the market IMO.  It is not as fast as the Trident and weighs the same.

It really depends on what I am fishing for and how.

On the rivers where I am floating down through shoals the Drifter is better.

When I am on the river and may need to paddle up river, the P13 is better.

When I am fishing calm water and want to stand and sight fish, the Big Game gets the nod.

When I have a long paddle in rough water, the Trident goes with me.
