| Hi there,
Before yesterday I gone fishing one hour on a permit flat and from a mixed bone/permit school this permit took my fly.
At this day it is the biggest I landed. As here we have a lot of reef fishing while wading, you can imagine that when a 15-20 lb is hooked up he pass through the barer, if your lucky enough, line wont snag in reef if not it's snap off....

| Yes, kinda secret fly that for me could be a baby mantis, a kinda shrimp and a fleing crab in the same time. I assume that "THEM" see in it want they want to eat....for now I have it in size 6 and will upgrade to size 2 and 1/0 in different colors. For now it's mixed white/green deer hair on shank, 6 strand of crystal flash at the bend and 2 long eyes in burned brown maxima nylon.
The biggest I hooked, around 15-20 lb was on size 2/0 same pattern but white/brown.
I think white/yellow should work, I've seen mantis of that colors.

| | I am spent from casting all morning long to permit...had them tailing on the fly but no hookup...casted nonstop for over 2hrs...soaking wet from the heat...way too tired to finish the day....today I used a crab pattern but it simply wont produce...maybe tomorrow..will try a shrimpy pattern I guess |

| | Sometimes you have to just land it on their head, may sound stupid, but when they get like that you got to get em to react, I have fished in islandmorda, had the same thing happen, only to have my uncle tell me to drop it on his head, now either the fish will spook, or your going to almost be instantly hooked up,also change the way you strip the fly, when the permit sees the fly, and gets right on top of it, just drop it, hope I helped, sorry if I didnt.
