| Amazing that you got that shot – they are so secretive – I hear them at night, but almost never see them.
Those screech owls are something else late at night and in the wee hours of the morning. As kid I grew up in the city – later got very involved in hiking, camping, backpacking and I remember the first time on the Appalachian Trail in NC and getting awakened by a couple of these guys calling to each other. Scared the bejeezus out of me. My hiking buddy told me it was just screech owls. I told him he was crazy, those are some tortured souls out there, ghosts, ring wraiths like from one of those R.R.R. Tolkein “Lord of the Rings” stories. It sounded like a combination of a horse being disemboweled and a cat being attacked with a weed whacker.
They don’t sound like owls. I prefer the good ole Barred Owl with its stately “who, who, who cooks for you, who cooks for you all” hoots. That’s a good owl.

| Have you found the 4th yet? Here's a hint:
The dark brown owl holds the key. What is below him is not the tree.

| Thanks - got it.
Yep, I saw that - it was my first guess for #4 and I talked myself out of it - decided that was a tree trunk.
Man these guys are hard to spot.
