One of the perks of this job is getting invited to go on exotic trips like to
the Bahamas. This season Star Brite asked where we wanted to go, and we said
Chub Cay. They had never been there before, so the trip was scheduled. The
Chub Cay Marina and Resort
was interested in working with us. So the AF crew gathered in Ft. Lauderdale
and loaded up all the gear on the 52' Star Brite Viking sportfisher for the
ride over to the Bahamas. The ride was smooth over the Gulf stream and onto
the flats for the rest of the ride to Chub Cay. We all went to bed think about
what we might catch the following morning fishing the world famous "Pocket".
We headed out early trolling 5 different baits on 5 different lines with no
success. No chatter on the radio. We kept looking and found a mahi-mahi school
and scored a few peanuts for the first part of the show. Nothing else.
Afternoon arrived and Capt Blair suggested heading to the shallow reef to try
for snapper and grouper. This decision proved to be bountiful. Capt Blair tied
on a DOA Lures Swimming Mullet and caught a mutton snapper on the first cast.
The DOA lure out-fished live bait as Capt Blair put on a show for the crew.
The episode turned out fantastic and his one of the most popular shows each
